DUCKS UNLIMITED ANNUAL BUFFET DINNER
Duck hunters have a lot to gain from supporting Ducks Unlimited because the organization directly protects and improves the very habitats that make waterfowl hunting possible. Ducks Unlimited conserves wetlands and grasslands that ducks rely on for nesting, migration, and wintering—meaning healthier duck populations and better hunting opportunities now and in the future. Their work also helps maintain access to quality hunting areas, supports science-based wildlife management, and ensures that traditions like duck hunting can be passed on to the next generation. In short, supporting Ducks Unlimited is an investment in more ducks, better habitat, and the long-term future of the sport hunters care about. 🦆

A little more about the history of the Gala....
On February 8th, 2025, we hosted our annual gala, an incredible evening dedicated to celebrating the achievements of our local communities. This special event not only honors the hard work and dedication of the people and businesses in the region but also serves as the Chamber's sole fundraiser for putting on a year’s worth of vital community events.
The GNACC Gala is much more than just a fancy night out. It’s a celebration of the growth, resilience, and accomplishments that our communities have worked so hard to achieve. From small businesses to nonprofit organizations, we enjoy highlighting those in our community.
The funds raised at the gala are crucial in supporting the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to create and host a variety of community-focused events throughout the year. These events include the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting, the community Easter Egg Hunt, and many more that bring our community together, fostering connections, partnerships, and a spirit of collaboration.
This year’s 2025 Gala was an amazing night of celebration and connection. It was truly an evening that highlighted how much we’ve achieved together and how much more we can accomplish as we continue to work side by side. It was a gathering of local business owners, leaders, and community members who all share a common goal: to keep making North Idaho a great place to live, work, and play.
We invite everyone to check back for more details on the 2026 Gala. It promises to be another exciting evening of honoring our community’s successes, and we can’t wait to see you there!

REPLACEMENT LEVY MEETING
Replacement Educational Programs & Operations Levy
2026-2029 Replacement Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Levy
Thanks to the support of our community, Newport School District has developed an excellent educational program for our children.
Why do we need EP&O Levies?
The current supplemental levy will expire at the end of this school year.
EP&O levy dollars help us to maintain current district programs and services.
EP&O levy dollars help to support unfunded state programs like student activities or enhance current district operations and support expenditures like the school resource officer, school nurse and funding for NSD Home Link & PORS facilities.
We must have a supplemental levy in place to receive matching LEA funds.
2026-2029 Replacement EP&O Levy
The State of Washington provides baseline funding to districts meant to cover the costs associated with what is referred to as “Basic Education.” Not included in the state’s model are programs such as athletics, performing arts, advanced courses, clubs and activities, transportation, safety and security, additional staffing and a host of other services that have been a staple of Newport’s educational program for decades. For this reason, nearly every school district in Washington State, like Newport, runs EP&O levies to help supplement state funding. This levy replaces our expiring three year levy and would ensure the Newport School District ability to continue to provide safe learning environments, quality educational programs and extracurricular opportunities our students greatly need and deserve.
PROPOSED REPLACEMENT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND OPERATIONS LEVYYear 1Year 2Year 3Extra-Curricular Programs: Fully supports the extra-curricular programs and includes all salaries/benefits, athletic safety equipment, personnel training, officials and transportation.$697,000$711,168$711,168Staffing for Student Support: These positions are focused on the emotional and physical safety of the students in our buildings. They include counselors, funding of Dean of Students at Stratton Elementary and Sadie Halstead, Student Engagement Coordinator.
